Technical consulting and technical health checks are designed to assess the technical condition of the electrical power supply systems in use and estimate costs to continue operating them. Technical health checks is an indispensable procedure that precedes such procedures as maintenance (servicing), repair, upgrade, and replacement of electrical power supply systems.
Technical health checks are performed using the following tools and methods:
- visual inspection and instrumental measurements of the condition of electrical power lines and power supply systems;
- analysis of documentation (to check whether technical rules and regulations, operation manuals and other technical documents are available at the facility and whether they are up to date and in line with today’s standards and functional use requirements);
- analysis of actual readings from metering devices and utilities and
- polling operators of electrical power supply systems.
When checking electrical power supply systems, our specialists assess:
- the condition of electrical power supply systems and power lines;
- the degree of wear and tear of the equipment in operation;
- whether fire, health, and occupational safety standards are met at the facility;
- whether the technical documents and records are in line with the supervisory and regulatory agencies;
- whether the actual operating costs are consistent with market prices and users’ real needs and
- whether electrical power supply system can and should be upgraded.
Based on the findings of technical health checks of electrical power supply systems and networks, technical reports are drawn up that contain the following data and address the following issues:
- description of the existing power supply system in the building, office, production facility or the whole enterprise;
- a list of electrical installations being used and their technical characteristics and other engineering data;
- data regarding measuring operations performed and tools / methods used thereby;
- technical performance characteristics of the existing electrical power supply system;
- analysis of the actual condition identifying existing deficiencies and potential failure points and
- practical recommendations for the upgrading of the electrical power supply system (if necessary) and respective measures with necessary illustrations (diagrams and/or graphics).
